1970-1990
The Burmese’ history in CFA dates from 1930 when this delightful breed came to the United States. As with most breeds, the look of the Burmese has changed over the decades, not only in body type, but in the recognition of the champagne, platinum, and blue colors in addition to the original sable. As the popularity of the breed grew, so did its acheivements in the show hall. Many Burmese began obtaining high national wins, and the significant distinguished merit title (for producing a specified number of grand champions and/or grand premiers).
